if its Really a New model, then it has the transfer bar safety and can be carried with 6- Mine is an oldie, in 30 cal.- damn things are tanks, and if maintained have a near miraculous reliability- BTW ruger will upgrade your gun for free, and send you the old parts for its collectors values sake if it is not a new model.......
