I have my RHCE and I will tell you, unless you really know linux well I would not start with this cert. I do not know how hard the RHCA is but if you really want a linux cert. that is probably the place to start. RedHat cert's are really respected through the industry since it is performance based instead of just taking a couple multiple choice tests.
A CCNA isn't what it used to be, but it will give you a good understanding of the basics of network engineering.
