This is a college town.
Like any college town, there seem to be people who smoke weed.
This evening was the first time I have smelled it since leaving Berkeley.
I have now realized that produce isn't the only thing that is fresher in California.
And I thought the smoke smelled bad there.

I had no idea that Mendocino County was that saturated. I can't imagine an entire neighborhood where each house is a front for an indoor pot farm.


edit: man, I wish those neighbors would stop smoking that terrible weed. It's wretched! Makes me miss home =/

I find it hilarious that someone called me a bot today for sending them a birthday message. Granted, it was fairly generic since I didn't know the guy. It was an old-time member that never really posted much when he was around, so it's difficult to look back and learn about him enough to relate to him. Apparently he left the board during a time when politics was mainly expressing conservative opinions. Oh how the pendulum has swung.

So my question, for any of you who care to take the time to think with me...
What can I do to personalize the birthday messages I send a bit more?
Should I say "Dear username" as I begin? When I see an older member that hasn't posted for a while should I say something along the lines of "I haven't seen you around for a while, I hope you have a great birthday." Still, someone could call that a bot. I'm not sure how to avoid being called a bot unless I reference something specific from their...

Yesterday's late afternoon was stormy. Today there's an odd cloudy misty moistness to the air. I wonder when it will rain, or if it will.

Life is far more interesting when my seeds germinate. I'm anxious to run this new batch of experiments. Grow little mutants, I know you can!

This morning our ninja-bun stealthily hopped onto a table and consumed the majority of our potted vegetable garden.

Tt was in the midst of feeding her a banana. When he made her work for her treat, she became frustrated. She lept onto the table and within seconds right before his eyes consumed almost all of our carrot tops, canteloupe vine, radish tops and marigolds. When Tt attempted to apprehend her, she hopped into a pot. At this point he picked her up and brought her to me. Her poor little belly was swollen with all of those naughty treats.

I suppose we know now that nothing is bunny-proof.

Perhaps she did leave those colored eggs in the freezer and medicine cabinet on Easter afterall.
