Today, I lost it. Ever since I got back to the studio, the bosslady has been insulting, condescending, presumptuous and accusatory.
Some of her more recent "comments":
"You keep doing stuff like that and you'll be back on the unemployment line."
(I used the term "playing" to describe experimenting with a portrait to be used in an image book. Once I said why it was the way it was, she responded with, "Oh. Well, they don't like black and whites, so don't bother."
"You call yourself a graphic artist with crap like this?"
(She wanted me to design a client's reminder card for kids' birthday portraits so I did it in a kid style with a birthday cake motif. Guess she wasn't impressed)
She keeps telling me how terrific her regular retoucher is and will give me work with a condescending "You can handle this, it's just wallet size." Translation: It's small, no one will notice your errors/lack of...
