sometimes it takes a bit of doing to figure out what is happening around you.

because the world is big and things change all the time.
you know.
A at this moment is different from A at this moment but not entirely because if it were A would at this moment be something other than A (which in a sense it is because the clause that preceded the last a before this one said was the case) there'd be discontinuity rather than succession. unless the A and Not-A were next to each other physically, and you were inclined to see them as a sequence.
which i suppose you would be. because, from your viewpoint, it would be. first one thing then another.

all this is with a single letter tumbling across the mode of explaining succession that we call time. one thing follows another therefore time.

one thing. another thing. therefore time.


this is the sort of tunneling that can make it so hard to figure things...

my dreams are still repeating.




but my mind is in motion.

1. Sometimes I find an anger welling up in me. It makes me do things. I delete them.
I wonder where it's going: I follow with my listening the doppler of its passage from the traffic island where I live.

2. In the night there are people who run through apartments and sit in other peoples' cars like they're working up the nerve to do something.

3. I construct narratives that arrange events one way another way. I look at them like they're maps of a distant space, blank except for the lines I draw.

4. Before, the compartment in which I was locked had no air.
The light was green. The electrical system hummed.
Phantoms moved across the floor: I would watch them collide, merge with each other, become something else.


5. I decide to continue writing for you even though it makes me sad.

Once I thought I knew a girl. And I did until I didn't.

Once, before, she told me: The secret is I am multiple.
An apparatus of mirrors finely polished, carefully calibrated to reflect the light of the sun and stars and the her that moves among them and the you that is intertwined.
Being there, you are astonished at your good fortune. It never occurs to you that there could be an apparatus; everything in its place and a place for every thing.



But your orbiting continues and carries you to its edge.

Once you see, you will not know if you are fortunate or unfortunate: you will yearn for what you thought you knew and know you cannot go back.
