i arrived in zacatecas, stayed at a hostel, which was the coolest place ever. great location, great people, a party on the roof every freakin night. zacatecas was really cool at first, it looks like southern spain, very colonial. there was a festival going on, which made it better.
but then, i realized, it was a huge tourist town. it was one big huge mall, all the buildings were stores, selling high end everything.
sadly, there was even a starbucks. ouch! it hurt me. i was used to getting 30 cent tacos on the street from a street vendor, whenever i wanted. i had to go to a restaurant to eat (i had the best freakin mole ever.) mornings, really early, i could find tamales and other street food on the street down some back alleys. street food rocks.
i did go to a kick ass museum, which had been a convent at one time, the artist was freakin amazing. Rafael Coronel, he is the MAN!
