I've been running with a running club and pretty often we run through very shady parts of town. I'm looking for a small pistol to carry while running. I usually wear shorts and tshirt.

the biggest thing that concerns me is that we do occasionally swim or wade across rivers, bayous, etc... i'll be able to clean it that evening, or the next day at the latest. but it needs to still be able to function after a swim.

so gun experts, any suggestions?

Why?

...

Issues:

- Tacticool look defeats purpose of a low profile "That's just my innocent bird gun, Officer" side-by-side as a suitcase companion gun.
- Single trigger defeats utility of dual barrels with different loads. The cowboy model has two triggers... what does this one not?
- Optics on something that has TWO shots, a cylinder bore, and a 20" tube? That's retarded.
- Flashlight? Okay... but that rail is a little overkill.
- No external hammers.
- The flashlight and optic cost more than the gun.

I like the finish and stock, though. Doesn't get ugly from being dinged up like the blue-and-walnut model.

...

Thoughts?

Went to the range today. Test fired the trusty 1918 Nagant pistol (a $70 steal) and some other handguns. Finally 70s range weather. Though the mosquitos do come out at sunset so you have to pick up and split fast.

At the pistol range, I almost stepped on a little mouse. it seemed paralyzed. From the noise or whatever. so I bagged it in my tactical purse and took it home to feed. once its fed I plan to let it go to prosper and eat wiring in my car or to be food for some snake down the street.

Apparently the cat was helping me with the mouse as well.
All in all, a good Saturday.
Now get out and shoot your guns before you forget how!
