That's what I'm thinking. If he was in the future, why not get a time and date from his older self? If he did have a long conversation with himself, couldn't he have gotten more information on the intervening years, or at least something more concrete than that his older incarnation 'looked about 70?'

Personally, I think the old version of him will turn out to be a thinly veiled metaphor for Jesus.

Unless the people in the future were taking extreme precautions not to be seen, would not the younger guy have seen all those scientists and instruments whirring, buzzing, beeping, jeeping, and creeping?

But at least we know two places where the understanding of time and space break down: one, beyond the event horizon of a singularity, and two, this guy's kitchen.

I would not even believe it if it happened to me. Regardless of any proof I had.

How about go to the local library, get some microfilm of a few world newspapers from December 25, 2008? Put it in a sealed envelope and give it to the Smithsonian Institute with the stipulation that it be opened on the day before.
