Hello, everyone. This seemed like a forum I would enjoy getting involved with, so I took the plunge. The name is Michael. I'm a journalist who works for a mid-size newspaper.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

I'm a reporter at the newspaper, and I typically cover political-type events, such as elections, townhall meetings and the like. Occasionally, I do some police/crime reporting.

Welcome, ipollux. You've started some interesting threads already that I find quite interesting. We have a few other media folks here. I'm certain that most will reveal themselves to you at some point.

I hope that you decide to stick around. This place can be a little, um, challenging at times, but it is also a very interesting place. Interesting only comes from comparative viewpoints, and I personally find nothing more boring than a thread full of agreement.
