Any ladies try that Sheer Cover/ Bare Minerals Makeup?

I've seen commercials for those Sheer Cover type makeups that say they're 100% natural and look great on everyone. I'd like to try it but not sure if it's worth it to spend the money. Anyone try this stuff...and if so...does it actually work? I'm so tired of using cakey foundations.

One of my roomies used sheer cover and it made her break out more and my other roomie uses bare minerals and she seems to like it. Both have problem skin and both said that it did cover well. The roomie who discontinued it said her other problem with it was that she did not like having to call in to change her order, she prefers going to the store and just picking it out herself.

I love mineral foundation! I started out w/ Bare Escentuals and now use Jane Iredale, because they have better color selection. It can take a little while to get the hang of application, but after that it's all great. You'll need to pick up a kabuki brush for application as well.

Get it where you can return the stuff if you end up not liking it.

it's easy to apply and doesnt' rub off on youor collar like other foundations can... but the problem I had with it - and I haven't used it for more than a year - was that it really settles into lines and wrinkles making them much more pronounced... but if you've got no wrinkes -then try it out.

I think JustJess used something like this on me when she did my wedding makeup (she kicks ass at applying make-up, btw!), so I'd have to see what she says. Is it really a foundation, or is it just a form of powder that sticks like foundation? I am not sure how it works. Haven't tried it since the wedding, since I don't really wear make-up, at least not the base-layer stuff (just blush, eyeliner, lipstick)... the few times I've attempted to apply foundation/powder myself, I've come out looking like a mannequin!

Love, love, love mineral makeup. It does take some practice to use, and do splurge on the right brushes.

You guys sound just like the commercial :-p
I'm really curious to try some...I looked on Ebay and there are a lot of different brands, but I think I'm going to try the brand Sultana suggested if I can find it in Lubbock even.

Abaya I've done the same things to myself before...oh my how I love to look like a mannequin :-p instead my problem is I kind of look like a mime mannequin before I understood the concept of color.

I'm allergic to everything. If you have a zinc or iodine sensitivity, be careful.
Bare Escentuals can also be found at Sephora, I think.

I use Bare Escentuals. Haven't tried others since I've been happy with it.

I used their website for my first order, then found that Sephora carried the products and found it easier to make choices and buy exactly what I wanted at the store.

As for us wrinkly types (got 'em!), I recommend that you make sure you've got the right brush, don't use too much, and practice practice practice (or maybe ask a clerk at Sephora for a demo?) application technique. Although I wouldn't quite say that it hides my wrinkles, they appear subtler and less pronounced than with classic foundation or no makeup.

The stuff minimizes or erases the flaws, and most think that I don't wear makeup.

Just checked mine... it's actually from Neutrogena, and it's called Mineral Sheers!! I find that amusing, given it's a combination of the two more popular brands. But I believe it's much cheaper than the others (and readily available wherever Neutrogena is sold, I assume), and it works for me. Just a thought.

I use one over my regular foundation, and started receiving compliments about my skin shortly after (gawd I sound like an infomercial). I don't like it by itself; it seems to accentuate tiny lines and wrinkles. It will come off on your clothes over foundation, if you use much. I use a dry washcloth to gently swipe any excess I might have on my face, and I don't have as much of that problem. The one I use, I bought at Wallgreens, Mineral Wear brand. It was like $12 for the foundation that I use over my foundation. I have not tried the more expensive brands.

edit: I also use one of their blushes. It's a solid, in a compact.

Love it, Love it, Love it....I have been using it for over 4 years. I am always asked if I am wearing makeup, and then I get complimented on how beautiful my skin is.

Bare Escentuals and also the L'Oreal stuff.. I love them both! Bare Essentuals is also available at ULTA stores. I signed up for the 'membership' and get it every few months. I now have a back stock of it. lol

the L'Oreal is much cheaper, and seems to cover maybe a little better.

Hey guys! I actually just got some of the mineral makeup from Costco! My parents bought me some as a good luck present for this upcoming semester. I gave it a try...and I absolutely love it!
