Music during sex?

See, due to the fact that my man and I are both students, we both live with his aunt and uncle. They're very old-fashioned, and when we have sex I find it hard to block our their Murder She Wrote or his little 2 year old niece running down the hall.

That said, does anyone listen to any music during sex, and if so, what is it? I'm just curious, and looking for something to keep my mind on the task at hand.

Thank you ladies, in advance. =)

Often times, yes.

Depends on the mood and timeframe. I'll usually turn on iTunes on my laptop and either shuffle all or use a special playlist. If it's going to be a slow and sensual all-nighter, I like me some R&B. One of my playlists was designed to evoke a certain mood and pace.

If it's a quickie, something with a hard and driving beat throughout will definitely get you both going.

We usually always have music on at least in the background. I use Pandora or XM radio online which allows a nice variety.

We like classical, techno, and trance.

Just be careful you don't put your entire music selection on "random." You never know when you're going to come across something that just plain doesn't fit. Like the hokey poky or the macarena.

and the second one is heavier electronic music, nasty Prince stuff, some grindy rock/blues junk...he has called this one SM

Sade's Lovers Rock is probably my favorite sex music. It just works. Slow, rhythmic, and sensual.

We usually have music playing because before my boyfriend lived at his dad's. His room had no real door and it was in a warehouse, so the walls didn't reach the ceiling.
He would usually put his itunes on random and for a while that worked....
Until a really strange song came on.

Fucking an animal - Gwar.

No, this isn't the song "Closer" by NIN.
It's by Gwar. About beastiality.
I couldn't stop laughing at the situation, and he kept thrusting and joking "what? you don't find Gwar sexy?"

So now, everytime that song has come up, we just start laughing or cracking jokes. We still put it on Random because it's more fun that way, unless we are just really into it and making love.

But otherwise, a couple of really good songs:
I would do anything for love - Meat Loaf
- The original song is 12 minutes long so it has a nice building tension.
We looked like Giants - Postal Service
- for some reason, this song exudes passion to me
Anything from Enya. Weird, I know. But it works
Bolero
- The song is about 20 minutes long and it starts out slow and methodic. It is very repetitve and as it goes on, it gets louder and faster and the cymbals crash louder and progressively louder as the song goes on. So, this song makes sense, since it follows the pattern of love making

Ravel's, ya? I concur.

Wow, that was a trip. Thanks for bringing me down Memory Lane, cs. I need to play that song again.

We haven't done sex with music since the SO forgot that the really cool ambient music that some guy did based on a computer instruction manual (tranlated the words/letters into music notes--it was beautiful) actually had the guy READING the instruction manual once in awhile. We both ended up laughing so hard at one point that it killed the mood but it was hilarious.

I really enjoyed the time I used Peter Gabriel's "The Passion" cd. He did too!

From one of our male TFP'ers:

Quote:
not sure if you wanted to add this or not but my lady friend and i got into the habit of listening to John Tesh on the radio.

His show played at the same time we usually hooked up, we turn it on for a bit of background noise. She never changes the station from her morning news show so it is quite weird and funny to here him sometimes in the background offer a piece of life advice.

Amen to this. Nothing ruins the mood like my kids' stuff coming on mid-coitus.

I don't know. Despite my bad experiences, they have been one of the more silly and memorable sexual experiences. Sure, I wouldn't reccomend putting the music on random on a first night together, but after a while, the spontaneity is fun!
You may not remember every single romantic sexual encounter with a loved one, but the silly, impromptu sex moments are priceless. Not only do they make the romantic moments, more romantic by comparison, but they it's also a test to show how comfortable you are around your lover.

We don't listen to music all the time... but when we do, we listen to trance, electronica, and metal of all kinds.

Well, it's the type of music we both primarily listen to, but for some reason heavy metal is really fun to have sex to. It's pretty hardcore. Trance is nice too though.

It's not music, but sometimes there's porn as background sound as well.

Thanks again ladies.

If you don't have any of those artists or don't know if you like them, set a pandora.com station to one of them to try it out. That's what I and my lover do to sleep/sex to

Portishead is an awesome suggestion. "Only You" and "Glory Box" strike me as good songs to sex to; I'll have to queue some up next time

Music can be nice, though it can also cause you to set your pace with it(in my experience at least) Sometimes it is nice, other times I like to hear only our own sounds. I cannot say that I have any real favorites of what I would choose to listen to though.

One of my best experiences of my life was a Sunday afternoon, with a blindfold, Enigma (MCMXC a.D.) on headphones and oral sex!

Memories are everything to me. To be able to hear a song on the radio, at the movies or playing overhead in some store. Look at each other and smile only the two of you knowing the meaning about that smile, those are special moments.

Sometimes I like to have music playing. I am not one to stop in the middle and turn something on, if it happens to be on, if one of us had the foresight to start something playing, so be it.

sadly, no. don't have a lot of sex with music just because we never think to put any on when the mood strikes.

love listening to drum'n'bass though. maybe nine inch nails. or something like cocteau twins or sigur ros.
