Toronto, December 28th - Duke of York
Well, since I suggested it and Charlatan has offered that he's in town for the Christmas week, here is the official "hey, let's meetup over Christmas" thread.
I was thinking along the same lines as last years successful Christmas meetup at the Duke of York. How does around noon-ish work for everyone? Shall we do the secret santa thing again?

Count me in!! Secret Santa sounds good to me but if we don't do it I won't be disappointed. Sharp TFPers can probably figure out what I'll ge giving this year
Can't wait to see everyone.

If i'm in toronto at the time, i'll probably show up. I can go either way on the secret santa.
I'll know more about where i'll be at that time as the date comes closer.

I only have Christmas Day off from work - I definitely would not be able to make an afternoon appt, and it would be tight to get up and back down to work on Friday as well :-\

I will definitely try to make this, though it may only be a quick drop in. I am not sure what my family has planned for me over the week I am in town.
That said, I would love to have a beer with all of you. (it's too bad that our honourary Torontonian Amonkie can't make it)

I am in Toronto from the evening of the Dec 23 until the evening of Dec 31 (New Year's on a plane).
I will have a ton of family things to do over Christmas and in just getting to spend time with the kids and my wife but want to put a side some time to see you guys. Plans will firm up as I get closer to the date. Cheers!

I just wanted to check if this is still on.
I also wanted to see if Paddyjoe might make it.

I'm going to try very hard to make this one. However, I do work at 4:00 on that day and from where I am now it takes a lot longer to get into Hogtown. Doing it on a Sunday if possible would be better for me, since I work every other day of the week and will continue to do so until I start school. Nonetheless if we do make it a noontime get-together on the 28th I should be able to make an appearance for 2 hours or so.
I can't make any promises. I've got the whole school thing going on and I'm working, plus I have other miscellaneous demands on my time (curse me and my active social life!) As per usual, I'm going to say definitely maybe. I'm going to make one of these soon, because I have to return aberkok's cd's. I promise you man, I'm taking good care of them and enjoying them immensely. If I don't make it out to this one or the next one I'll just ship them back to you.

so I guess the time is noonish at the Duke of York. do we need a reservation? looks like only 5 or 6 of us at this point in time (hagatha has bowed out), so we could probably just wing it.
See ya there

39 Prince Arthur Ave.
Toronto, ON M5R 1B2 Although this doesn't help me, as I don't remember what stops to get off at. So have we decided what time we're meeting up? it would be no good for someone to come at 12 and everyone else come at 1ish. How about we just say 1 since we already know that aberkok can come then? Unless someone else is inflexible.

Thanks - this is roughly in the vicinity of Avenue Road and Yorkville Ave or Cumberland Ave. If i get there, it will be via the DVP south to Bloor, then along Bloor to St George, then north to Prince Arthur. Something like that. I can McGuyver the side street navigation somehow. |

I can't believe nobody has updated this yet.
The meet up was great. It was good to see all of you while I was in town. The picture below shows everyone who made it (l-r Fresnelly, Aberkok, Lucifer, me and Seige) except Leto (not there when we took the shot) and Hagatha (who was camera shy and took the shot). I hope we can meet up when I am in town in July. Happy New Year all of you.

Great meet-up. That picture makes us look like some sort of gang, maybe the A-Team? If that's the case I'd like to be Hannibal. I know I'm not the oldest, but I want to wear cool gloves and smoke cigars...and do a series of P.S.A.s teaching the Heimlich maneuver.
