TFP Mexico! April 2010

So!

I'm not one for lots of talking and no doing. I currently have a ticket in my possession to crash out at Tully's the weekend of April 9-11, 2010.

Many event threads have a hard time pinning down dates because you can never satisfy 100% of the people.

Tully told me to go ahead and get this thread and the dates up, if anyone else is interested in coming!

Nearest airports to Tully's Pad of Paradise are Cancun or Merida (smaller regional airport, closer but more $$ on the ticket)

Rules of the weekend. No Drugs. No Guns. No Drama. If we drink all the booze in the liquor cabinet, we're on our own.

Other than that... Bring it!

I am completely and utterly down for this trip. I'm going to go ahead and plan on getting my ticket for this weekend. My birthday is the 8th so I can celebrate that while down in Mexico.

No Guns, Drugs or DRAMA? Oh I'm bringing the DRAMA. I'm going to bring a big ol' sack of Gluv level DRAMA and spread it around like I'm Johnny motherfucking Appleseed.

Yeahhhhhhh, not really, but I felt like saying it.

RJ, hope you can make and bring a friend... and fishing line.

Bogey- firefighters always welcome.

Cinn, would love to have you come too. But understand airfare could be an issue. If you check right after Christmas it might drop. If not you know it's an open invite. Though if you don't make and Eden does that's means I have to find him a Mexican transvestite to keep him company. I wasn't that worried about it until he requested one with big hands, now I have to start being picky in my search. The guys kind of high maint. if you ask me. Probably going show up here and want imported rum.

Cinn, depending on the dates you want to do, there are cheaper flights out of Columbus. If at least a couple of us from SW Ohio are going, I'd be willing to carpool up to CMH to get the cheaper flight for everyone.

I'm interested, but of course this is pending whether or not I have a job by then to a) afford to pay for the trip and b) get the time off. We'll see.

Noodle, it doesn't have to be just those specific dates... I just threw those out as a starting point to get as many folks together at the same time

My ticket gets me in a little earlier than Friday and leaving a little later the following week. It was cheaper, but I was also able to book a little more time off. I'm not sure what everyone's circumstances are

Coming from Europe I could see that. Try seeing what happens when you add a few nights at a cheap hotel. Many of the hotels in Cancun are paying airlines to bring people in, just like Vegas used to do. You don't have to check in.

I'm planning on spending a week there, just depends on my job status at the point, but I want to spend as much time in Mexico as I can. So, anyone who wants to show up early, just look for the REALLY pale hobbit passed out on the beach. I'll have a bottle of SPF OVER9000 there with me if anyone needs it. Us hobbits have sensitive skin.

Google maps is giving me shit about driving directions from San Jose to Merida. I figure it's between 1800 and 2200 miles, or about the same amount of time it'd take me to get from here to St. Louis. That's 2 straight days of driving, assuming turn taking (like any legitimate road trip would have). Mine auto seats 5, but realistically more like 3 or 4.

Lemme think about it.

I'm really tempted, but I'm pretty sure my SO would flip if I wanted to take a Mexican vacay while he stays home. Given the timing, there's no way he can come with due to the amount/intensity of his schoolwork.

We are more important than your SO. I mean COME ON, getting drunk on a tropical beach with Tully, Amonkie, and I? There is nothing else in the world more important than watching a drunk Amonkie chasing a drunk Eden around the beach trying to give a birthday spankin' while a drunk Tully eggs her on. Name something funnier than that scene, I dare you.

Tell him you are going on a WORK trip. That's what married men do right? "Honey, I'll be gone for a business meeting this weekend, I'll be back on Monday."

Gluv, it's gotta be a scene. Whilst Eden naked is funny, it's not nearly as funny as say a bare-assed and sun-burned Eden pinned down while Monkie sits on top of him trying to smack his ass hard enough to make it match the rest of his skin. Oh, and Tully's rounded up that big-handed Mexican transvestite with the working wedding tackle for the next round of Eden Ass bashing.

Eden, don't make throw down challeges unless you intend for them to be taken seriously.

As much as I'd like to go, 1) my wife would kill me for the life insurance money if I took a Mexican vacation without her, 2) no one wants Max and Drew running around a drunken Mexican TFP meetup and 3) I'm less fun in person than I am here.
