Evacuation Hot Fudge

When I had to evacuate my home for Hurricane Katrina I went to an Aunt's house. She made hot fudge one night like it was the easiest thing in the world, who knew? Then she left us for the rest of the week, and we didn't have her recipe. I spent the next couple of days trying to figure out how to make hot fudge. The recipe calls for "Special Dark Cocoa" which is from Hershey's, but we have found better cocoa since. I mix these two, 50/50 Double Dutch Dark Chocolate & Black Cocoa

Here is the recipe I came up with:

Evacuation Hot Fudge

1 Stick Salted Butter
2 Cups Dark Brown Sugar Not Packed
2/3 Cups Special Dark Cocoa
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
2 Pinches Sea Salt
1/2 & 1/2 until desired thickness
-------------------------
1. Over low heat, melt butter
2. Add sugar and stir
3. When sugar disolves add cocoa & stir
4. Add salt & vanilla & stir
5. Add 1/2 & 1/2 slowly until desired consistency is reached.
6. Serve warm over your favorite ice cream

that doesn't sound too hard. I may give that a try.

It's not hard at all. I hope you gave it a shot, and I hope you enjoyed it.
