Anyone?

I'm giddy about this. The Witch Doctor? Awesome!

Brought up here.

I, for one, am NOT excited. Looks like more of the same. I'm getting tired of graphical updates and new characters constituting a new game. I suppose it's better than releasing a new game instead of DLC like GH and RB are doing. Annoying!

At any rate, I expect more from Blizzard. If the Bungie announcement tomorrow morning isn't killer, I may give up on all of my favorite studios.

*sad panda*

I'd like to see it on a console. Call me names, but I just don't dig on PC games. The only one I've ever played to completion was Neverwinter Nights.

Honestly, I hope it's more of the same. People have been trying to re-create Diablo II ever since Diablo II came out. I think Blizzard are the only ones that can create a worthy successor to D2.

Exactly. It's more of the same - which is exactly what people love - but with modifications (and not just graphics) to keep it interesting. What's not to like?!

I'll have to admit though... I HATED diablo until I played it on a LAN with friends. It's a terrible single player game, but playing it with friends is one of the best things ever (but I guess that's the case with a lot of games).

*cough* The Sims *cough*

Yeah, some people will just keep buying rehashes of the same thing over and over again...

*cough* Madden games *cough*

I prefer my next $40-60 to be spent on a NEW good experience, not a remake of an old good experience I once had made prettier. *shrug*

Pretty much every sequel is the older one made prettier. I don't really see how much they could change Diablo without completely changing what the game is.

If they made it totally different then people would bitch like Fallout 3. If they made it the same people will bitch because it's not totally different. It's a lose-lose situation for them. Either way they make it I'm sure it will be good even if it's more of the same.

Count me in for "more of the same, please!" I had been playing Diablo 2 just to burn time recently... then Diablo 3 was announced and I became so giddy. I thought to myself, "Now I can play the same immersing game, but with more convincing graphics! Sweet!"

To me it's mostly the fact that no game has held sway over my free time as much as Diablo2 did. I've all but stopped playing PC games, never did play console games.

I'm happy that they are remaking it. More of the same, with better immersion as Halx put it.

Where do I sign for my early beta copy?

This same thing happened to my last Blizzard countdown thread. Learn to read, people!

Thankfully for Blizzard, the same was super addictive and actually pretty fun. Why would they not make more of it including the graphical updates and new characters?

You can look for it on their main website in roughly 10 or 12 years.

The ONLY thing I want changed is how loot is distributed in a party. As I returned to D2 recently it's stupid that to even have the slightest chance of getting loot requires you to be right under the boss when he dies and have the fastest connection. Even then you're going to get the good stuff stolen by someone's hacks that picks up anything good on a 0-1ms delay..

I remember someone showing me a hilarious video of someone who had such a hack. However, his inventory was full so he was permanently stuck trying to pick up the item. So basically some monsters came by and killed him while he was stuck trying to get some items.

He then went back to his corpse, but the same problem occurred, so he died yet again, losing all the loot from his first corpse.... LOL

I don't have a link handy but in one of the IGN write-ups Blizz said that every single person will get their own class specific loot.

So no fighting for loot. Ever.

Doesn't this mean that there won't be any trading either?

I'm pretty sure that they only mean the appearance, not that all items will be specific to a class. Also, even if that were the case, I'm pretty sure you'd still be able to pick the items up.

I'd imagine that loot will be changed to work like WoW loot works, so that the party leader sets a type of looting instead of the spam loot bullshit from D2, unless it's set to FFA, of course.

5) Co-Op Is The Natural Order

Co-op is standard-issue in most action games these days, but Blizzard has known its importance for years. It's no surprise, then, that co-op is going to play a huge role in Diablo III. We're talking drop-in, drop-out play. We're talking an overhaul of Battle.net (to launch with StarCraft II). We're talking about health globe drops that heal all the members of the party. And most importantly, you can say goodbye to scrambling for loot. In Diablo III, everyone sees their own loot.

The graphical layout not being much different means, to me, that they concentrated more on adding a new depth to the gameplay. New aspects such as the physics system and environment response, as well as the attention given to spells and skills makes Diablo III look very appealing to me. As a former, an avid, player of Diablo II, I can say that attention the actual in-game combat and overall quality of the gameplay is much more important to me than the graphics. Graphics which I think look fantastic btw (making it a bit darker wouldn't hurt though...).

I'm excited.

I just recently bought and started playing D2 for the first time last weekend. Even with the outdated graphics I'm having a blast playing online with my friends over ventrilo. So far I have a 25 Lightning Trapsin.

My BNet name on USEast is "Esoteric." Let me know if you add me, I should be on this weekend doing Baal runs.

I might be able to get up with you a little this weekend, Eso. I picked this back up a week ago but stopped ever since I was forced to reinstall Windows. Installing this game is such a hassle. I've got a 51 WW/Berzerk barb called Denigulator with really shitty gear.

I am really excited about this one. I miss the old days of huge D2 LAN parties with my friends. I just hope they include the paladin in some shape or form. I've always like aura based classes.

I have been checking back to see if they'll add more characters to the site, but they haven't added anything yet. Argh! This game can't come fast enough!
