Demigod, by Gas Powered Games and Stardock, was released today: DEMIGOD

It looks like it could be pretty cool, though I don't know how I feel about Stardock's Steam clone being required for multiplayer. Apparently, depending on which Demigod you choose, the game can play either like a straightforward RTS or more like a Diablo-esque action RPG.

Has anyone been following this game or been involved in the beta? I'm thinking I might pick it up, but figured I'd ask around for opinions.

Haven't heard of it, but it looks like it might be interesting. Just wish I had time to play computer games these days

I've been following it and I am pretty excited for it. I am going to wait and check out reviews for it though before I buy it, I've been burned too many times on games I thought would be awesome but ended up sucking hard.

Well, I gave it a try. If you've ever played DotA (a custom map for Warcraft III), it's exactly like that with a few extras. Don't get me wrong, DotA is a fun map to play on occasion. It is not, however, a $50 map.

In conclusion: fun to play a couple of rounds, but not to buy.
