A man goes into a cocktail lounge and approaches Maxine sitting by herself:

Man: ' May I buy you a cocktail?'
Maxine: 'No thank you, alcohol is bad for my legs.'
Man: 'Sorry to hear that. Do they swell?'
Maxine: 'No, they spread.'
