Time for new tools...

It is time for me to get a good new set of cordless tools, anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking at 18V most likely...

I've done very well with Milwaukee screwguns over the years. Why not rent from somewhere for an upcoming project? Actual use is the best way to be sure about a particular model.

I find the most important aspect of a drill is how the various switches are laid out and the most important aspect of a saw (Jig, circular, recip...) is the blade in/out mechanism. Balance is critical to all.

Regarding batteries, just be sure they're not the type that you have to fully discharge before recharging. That might not be an issue anymore but it's a good question to ask.

Whatever you do, don't cheap out. Consider buying from a smaller dedicated store, rather than a big box chain.

Let us know what you get!

Well, I ended up buying an 18v Lithium Ion Ridgid drill set. It feels good in the hand and is solid without being too heavy. Controls are convenient for my hands.

I was sold by Ridgids lifetime warranty, which includes the batteries and charger.

Now let's see if I can resist the Powermatic table saw I fell in love with whilst at the shop...
