Best way to handle it when someone really angers you on a MB
What is the best way to handle it when someone really angers you on a message board?
Recently at another forum, someone called me a troll. In this thread that I started there was nothing trollish, however, some of my questions indicated a lack of knowledge on the subject being discussed. The person had already called me a troll twice before. This time I reacted, telling her to stop. This began a long fight on this thread. How do you think it's the best way to handle it when someone really angers you on a message board? Ignore it? Stand up for yourself? |

Arguing on a message board is like competing in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded. Many people love to talk smack on a board, saying things that they know would get their pasty-white fat-asses handed to them if they said the same things to someone's face. It makes them feel superior and mentally removes them from their Mommy's basement.
I wouldn't make the emotional investment in becoming agitated. Sure, what they say is hurtful, but write it off to the source, and move on with your life.

Do you want someone on a message board having any kind of effect like that on you?

As much as I laughed when I read Kazoo's phrase, when I see again with a picture - it starts to saddens me.
I think this is one of those situations where it maybe ok as a throw-away line. But it's better left as that. It's quite a reasonable idea for retarded kids to participate in sport. And there is nothing morally objectionable about being retarded. It's simply the luck of the draw (or not) basically. |

Really if you think about it you have to wonder why someone would choose to spend time and energy having hostile conversations with people they don't know on an on-line message board or via e-mail. Seriously people don't have enough problems IRL, they have to find on-line problems to deal with too? There a lot of crazy people out there, avoid joining their ranks, ignore it.
