Songs of Strength to Get You Through Life
I was thinking that there are many songs out there that inspire us to keep reaching for our goals in life, to stay strong, to be determined.
I created this thread so we can share the classic (and some not so classic) songs that when heard, get everyone tapping their foot, singing, humming, and feeling determined! Here are some to start: This one I can't really stand anymore but if I don't post it, someone will, heh - This one never gets old - Here's Frankie: For fighters :For dancers :For love: For peace: Here are some more recent ones: Reverse Psychology -For girls only - Anthem of Super-Women -

However much we give our thoughts the will To be our soul and gesture it abroad, Our hearts are incommunicable still. In what we show ourselves we are ignored. The abyss from soul to soul cannot be bridged By any skill of thought or trick of seeming. Unto our very selves we are abridged When we would utter to our thought our being. We are our dreams of ourselves, souls by gleams, And each to each other dreams of others' dreams. Fernando Pessoa, 1918 |

Let it be is such an incredible song. The Beatles are so incredible.
See I have songs that make me feel super pumped, but because I'm in theatre I always feel emotional connections to musical theatre. Good musical theatre; not shitty, super commercial stuff. Well, hell, even some shitty commercial stuff. There is something about superior vocals, complex harmonies, and subject matter that make me feel alive.

being as I am kind of a needy person, and am working on being more autonomous, I have always felt "Immature" by Bjork to be a really great song reminder...
"How could I be so immature / To think he could replace the missing elements of me / How extremely lazy of me"

only one song comes to mind. John Myer: waiting for the world to change. I can only relate to this because waking up everyday now-a-days scares me. with the world we live in, its hard to say what is going to happen next, but i still live life happy, since i surround myself with (in my eyes) people who are great people.

chamillionaire's ridin dirty is nice to hear when your in a bad mood, I play the track all the time regardless of my mood, but I think it'll do the job if inspiration is what you need.
Apart from that, Ieva's Polka by some finnish band and 1922 Blues by Charlie Paar is other tracks that keeps me motivated through the day.
