...stupid jerk didn't even have a helmet on!

I've not only contemplated a drive, but even fantasized about a purchase. That kind of rally driving is something I'd like to try...for real, not the simulator.

My dad used to compete in Rallies in the US and the UK. His old rally car is sitting in one of our barns, unused since the early 90s.

I've been dying to get it out, restore it, and try a rally myself. It's even right-hand-drive.

I don't drive, but I let my driver know what turns are coming up ahead.

My dad's is an old Dodge Avenger. He essentially built it himself inside the Avenger shell.. not sure about engine/suspension, but he did the roll cage and everything on his own. It has about 8 huge headlights on it.

I used to sit in it as a small child and pretend I was driving it, my little sister as my navigator. Loved to play with the seatbelts and such.

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of it here and my parents live in Ohio.. but I can see if my dad will take some pictures and email them to me. I'll have to remember this thread.

If you are willing to fork a mere $15,000, you could be the proud owner of this Force dynamics 301 simulator. The obvious goal of this machine is to reproduce the physical sensation of whichever simulator you would be playing. Now, I don’t know if Gran Turismo (or other games) are compatible, but the manufacturer says that it’s just a big PC accessory. video in the full post.

Specifications
51.5-inch Projection Display
5.1 Surround sound
3 Degrees of Freedom
500lbs of peak thrust
2 Gs of (vertical) Acceleration
+/- 30 degrees of Pitch and Roll
Thats all?

Wow, for that much I can see buying it, plopping it into the local arcade parlor and charging $5 per ride.
