Artsie Photos from British Car Day - Sept. 21, 2008

Went to British Car Day in Bronte Ontario yesterday. Fantastic show. I don't know how many cars made it out, but turn out was great, weather was good, and the cars were spectacular.

I decided to take some Black and White photos with my digital camera, playing with the shutter speed for a bit of effect. I was mainly interested in capturing "the details" of the cars to show the British Car as Art. (The Art of the Automobile.) A car show like BCD gives you a unique opportunity to photograph all makes and models at once, however, you often times catch spectators in the shot, or a guy's Tim Horton's coffee in the car, etc. But all in all, I like some of the results of these photos and figured I post some of them.

Hopefully you like.....

Congratulations!!!! These are excellent and very highly enjoyable.

I've never seen a larger display of SU carburetors in my life. And sadly, it reminds me how stupid I was for ever selling my '67 E-Type Roadster

British Car Day at Bronte (just outside of Toronto) is always a magnificent show. I believe it is now the largest British Car show in North America. I haven't been in 4 years because my own TR6 has not been on the road. But this year I devoted some time to her in the summer and got her on the road. The thing I love about this show is the incredible variety of cars up for viewing. I'm a big fan of the Healeys and the Jags and the MGA. (As you can tell from the photos.)

Great shots JTK!

I'll have to put this event on my calender for next year.

The pinacle of sports car. Truly Art on Wheels.

You would be amazed when I am out in my TR6 how many guys come up to me to tell me that they used to have a Triumph, or another British car, but they made the mistake of selling it. You are not alone.

Third Sunday of Every September.

It's always very cool to see the old British Iron rumbling down the QEW.

Great pictures! Those look like some mighty pretty old rides. All driven to the show, or trailered?
I wish my car had that kind of controls on the steeringwheel.. Seriously, that'd be pretty cool.

those are fantastic shots, the black and white really does them justice. Thanks for sharing, and great job.

After viewing these again, I'm accepting bids for my family...as a group or will sell separately...all must go...or will trade for 1960's or earlier Aston Martin.
