No, no this can't be right. Jeremy wants the Caddy over the BMW?! I.... I'm not certain of anything any more.

hehe. Proof that Jeremy is a real car guy. If it's a good car, he likes it. The CTS is a damned good car. . 0-60 in 3.9 is unreal for a 4 door. I'd get one myself if I could afford it. A shame GM doesn't take a lesson from this and spiff up the thinking behind all the other models.

right you just need to read the article to see that it squarely is a good write up and comparo to other vehicles.

I'm sure my 13yo boy hasn't seen that episode yet but he keeps asking me if a CTS-V is a good choice for his first car...a real dreamer.

Clarkson also owned a Ford GT, which could also make you doubt his credibility . I think the judgment on the CTS-V is a bit better and it's probably a great car.

God, that guy is long-winded. Took him over half an article to get to the actual review.

it gets even longer when you pause in the middle of sentences like he does when he's speaking.

Yes, I know. One of the reasons I can't stand him.

I'm not a big GM fan, but this car does seem epic (to use a Clarkson-ism).
When I saw this image, though, I was seriously disappointed.

If they're going to give it a wire grill, then give it a REAL wire grill! Why would you want to recreate the look of wire in chromed plastic? It's a Cadillac for fuck's sake! I'm sure the Bentley's (from the article) grill is the real deal.

I think that the true shock of the article is that any of the Top Gear guys actually like an American car.

Actually, no.

This is Bentley's grille.

It might not be plastic, but it sure is solid just like on the Cadillac.

car manfacs like plastic front ends because they have more bounce than metal and glass. that's why the light covers are no longer glass, and I assume the grills as well.

A lot of CTS-V owners go with a cam or open headers - those massive V8s sound awesome with it.

Bleh. The last thing I would want in a luxury car is the farting sound of the engine. I like my cars running silent, only making a barely audible hiss when accelerating and silent idle as if the engine isn't even turned on.

that's one of the problems I had driving my mom's Lexus SC400. It was so silent I had no idea I was pushing 90mph....
