If you're going to blow an engine

Make sure you blow it real good.

That was pretty cool. I didn't expect that.

He even ran it over.

dang, at the 2:00 mark the engine is at least as high as the driver's head. He's luck it didn't come back into his cage - which would offer no protection in this instance.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he'll never wear that racing suit again.

Speaking of blown engines, I just got back from the Ford Nationals at the Carlisle, Pa fairgrounds. The ford racing team was there and for giggles they entered an '10 Mustang Shelby GT 500 in the burnout competition.

Blew it up.

10/10 for style, but minus a couple million for good thinking.

Imagine that phone call to your boss...

In drag racing, NHRA regulations require straps over the engines to keep them and other parts from flying off into the crowd in case of a catastrophic failure.

I'd say this is a good example as to why those regs. are in place!

I just read through the comments on youtube and someone mentioned that too much pressure from the turbos would cause the fuel to get pushed past the pistons and into the sump. When the fuel in the sump ignites, boom! the block blows off. At one point in the video you can see that the pistons (and I'd assume, the crank) are still in the engine bay.

And this is what happens when rednecks inherit some money and spend it on a V12 and twin turbos but don't have anything better to put it into than a tractor.

That redneck southern drawl has gotten so bad I can't understand a word they're saying!

That was pretty cool though. I hope my county fair has a tractor pull this year.
