Tesla Roadsters were originally supposed to have an impressive top speed, but they had to abandon the 2 speed transmission that would have allowed it for several engineering concerns. As it only has a single speed, the top speed is relatively low, at about 125 mph.

That's pretty awesome, but unfortunately, it is a long way from revolutionizing the industry until they don't need to charge it for 20 minutes after every 1/4 mile. Still, fun to wipe out some douchebag gear heads.

I think one of the fastest electric cars is the tesla roadster, built in california, it looses battery power quickly though, I think it only runs 250-350 miles orso and then needs a long time to recharge, 8 hours somewhere around there. No point in having something like that if you have to recharge for so long. The whole purpose is to drive, refill, and then go some more not stop and be stuck for half a day.
