Quick Ontario travel question

My wife is interviewing at Med Schools (Residency) across the country the next couple weeks and has to go from Hamilton on Sat Feb 4th, evening, (or early the next morning) to Toronto for Sunday mid-afternoon.

What is the best way for her to travel from McMaster University to Pearson Airport? Our online searches indicate a crazy slow bus and a train with some potential. I'd appreciate any advice you guys can provide.

Take either the 407 from Hamilton all the way to Hwy 427 south to Pearson. (this is a toll road so you will be charged for it by having a bill mailed to you, or if you have a rental car they willl charge your credit card)

Or you can take Hwy QEW east to Hwy 427 North to Pearson. This is a free highway but may be slower with heavier volume of traffic.

Now that I re-read your post I guess you won't have a rental car so won't be driving? In that case, I'm sure there will be shuttle services that go from Hamilton to the airport with fixxed rates.

Thanks Daval. You are correct, she won't have a car. She is carpooling until Hamilton, but then her travel companion continues to London where my wife will have already interviewed.

I found a reference to a $69 dollar shuttle from Hamilton Airport to Pearson, but at least in Alberta, a 75ish km freeway taxi would be somewhat less than $69. Either way, she wants to have something decided well before she makes it to the neighborhood.

maybe this? I didn't follow through the entire reservation process, so I'm unsure of the cost.

The $69 is probably right. It would cost me, in an airport taxi, from Riverdale to the airport about $44. Riverdale, for all intents and purposes, is downtown.

And the final trip:

By Express Bus, Hamilton GO station to Toronto Union station ($8.85, 55-65 minutes). Cross the street to the Royal York, where she catches an Airport Express shuttle direct to her terminal ($15.45, 25-40 minutes).

Yeah, she has to carry her luggage, but she is traveling 'carry-on' style so it isn't a huge issue. This route was suggested by a McMaster student who has taken it on a number of occasions (as the Hamilton airport is apparently useless).

It's a bit out of the way having to go all the way downtown but the price is right.

The walk from the GO stop to the Airport Express pick up spot isn't that far. Pretty much a city block is all it is.
