gd,
are you base jumping off Devil's Tower in Wyoming?

Devils Tower (Lakota: Mato Tipila, which means “Bear Tower”) is a monolithic igneous intrusion or volcanic neck located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises dramatically 386 m (1,267 ft) above the surrounding terrain and the summit is 1,558 m (5,112 ft) above sea level.

Devils Tower was the first declared United States National Monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. The Monument's boundary encloses an area of 5.45 kmē (1,347 acres).

Hey Nick, the Flight Deck is one of my favorites. As I kid my dad would take me out to breakfast there every year for my birthday. Later on as a paperboy in Salem I sold the most new subscriptions one time and won a 45 min ride in a Cesnna. I was 12-13 and the pilot let me steer it around for a while. Those two things probably had a lot to do with me getting my private license years later. After I got my licenses I flew down there from Astoria one year to meet my dad there for breakfast on his birthday. Turns out the boy brother's roommate's girlfriend from years ago was, maybe still is, the manager. Small world.

Tul, I just stumbled on that Flight Deck info but it sounded like a neat place that I would like and I'm sure gd "should" be there whether she knows it or not...that's an interesting story you have about it, and nice memories.

The Flight Deck is owned by the flight ops at SLE. They're one of many smaller airports that offer a "loaner" meaning if you call ahead and reserve it they have a car you can use free of charge. Most of the time there's a fueling requirement, meaning you have to fuel your plane to use the car. But you're likely going to need the gas anyway. Sometimes these vehicles are pretty nice, other times no so much. Spokane used to have an old police car, think it was a 1978 Impala. South Lake Tahoe used to have newer Toyota 4-Runner with leather seats etc... But as long as it runs, frees a very good price.

You all on the right map. I am in Oregon, although not at the Flight Deck restaurant.

What in the world am I looking at? I certainly dont need my magnifying glass to see this thing!

Well, I've been searching balloon rides, blimp rides, rides on lawnchairs lifted by helium balloons ...but nothing ...except this just popped into my head:

Are you at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon?....home of the Spruce Goose? ...your cryptic allusions to grey and vodka made me think "goose" or "she's nuts" so I went with the goose

Models comparing the Spruce Goose to a DC-3:

Now, now? ...can I belt down a nice cold shot of straight vodka? ...Na Zdrowie!

Thats right. In McMinnville you can see the Goose, and drink the Goose. I saw the Spruce Goose arrive at its hanger, coming right down the street.

Youre up, badboy!
