My ex-girlfriend is pregnant, she's still going to school 18 hours and working a ludicrous 50 hour schedule. I have told her I don't think it's healthy for her to be doing so much, but she insists she has to because she has too many bills. She lives at home with her parents, her only bills that I know of are her student loans and about $5000 of credit card debt that's probably in default rate.

Are there loans or grants or something to help her consolidate and get a low monthly payment?

She thinks I'm an asshole for not paying her bills while she's pregnant, though I have split all the medical bills and I'm not even 100% that I'm the father.

the moment you've taken over paying the bills, the state will make you the father by default, even if you are doing it as a friend or just being nice, at least that's the way it is in NY.

paternity test first before you do pay for any bills if you aren't 100% sure if you are the father.

Next is, loans? grants? for what? her poor decision making ability?

There's plenty of government programs she can look into like welfare, WIC, and the like...
