Skyrunners - Powerbocking

Does anybody own a pair of these:

The sport/act/... is called power-bocking I believe, after the inventor ( xxxx Bock ). You can find a few vids on Youtube, like this one:

I bought myself a pair last week, and I'm learning to run/jump with em whenever I have a little time.

Would like to see if there are some people here with some prior knowledge that wouldn't mind sharing a few pointers.

So far it's alot of fun, but I severely misjudged the running-aspect with them.
It's alot more taxing than I would have thought... I'm not quite sure anymore that I could run 10km in them.

I have to admit, even though I can't go all that far while running, walking is barely taxing.
Also, you get alot of weird looks when you bounce by a few people

So how about it? Any other enthousiasts around?

Well I can't say I've ever heard of this, but now I'm intrigued. How much does a pair of these go for (if you don't mind my asking)? Do they have organized events, or is it just a fun thing to do?

Is it bad that I SOOO wanted to see those kids bust their ass on those steps?

I don't think that I'd be into this. I'm already 6'4", so those would put my heads in the clouds. And I'm perfectly capable of falling and breaking things without extra crap strapped to my feet.

The motion of the guys with those things on looks a lot like they are each on their own portable trampoline. I guess that's cool for them. I'd get bored quickly.

Braisler: Meh, was my first wish as well, so ... (there are youtube vids with failed tricks as well )

It is sort of like being on your own trampoline, but I intend to use it to go running. It's supposed to double your speed roughly. You can use it to do tricks, or parkour as well.
Just jumping up and down would get boring really quick I would suppose. I used to have a bed to do that, 20 years ago

Ratbastid: So far, I've only ever fallen forwards, so no busted ass to report at the moment... *knocks on wood*

Wrexify: I believe 300$ roughly, I'm not sure though. The price of these things in the US are a big mystery to me. I got them fairly cheap, since I got them directly from a reseller (A friend bought one lot through his shop, but only for friends, and sold them to us without a markup)

We're currently looking into setting a little thing up with this group, but I haven't yet seen any others around here. From what I can gather on various sites, (and the vid above) there are some groups that organise get-togethers though. That ought to be alot of fun (and scraped knees I would assume)
