We're not a space for connecting people via classifieds. We have a few members that do want to sell some of their no longer needed items to the community but those are few and far between.

Can you elaborate on the purpose of a shopping forum? From what I can understand so far from what I can imagine, Tilted Living should suffice.

Related to hundove's question, something I really like on (that technology-related board that both you and I post on) is their UMF threads, where they discuss new products (especially foods) and whether or not they are any good. I don't know if it would work here, though, and I haven't tried to start any similar threads here.

I didn't mean buying and selling. I meant posting about the sales going on and where, and the best products, and so on.
I also agree with Redlemon. It's nice to state which products we like and which we dont.

Maybe a tilted review, where you can review anything you like, and maybe a request portion, to request a review of something (product, movie, service etc)

That already seems to take place quite well within specifc forums - camera talks in Photography, Tech/computer stuff in Electronics/Computers, etc.

for the most part there are people who review products and recommend them in the specific forums, cameras in photography, computers and peripherals in computing, fitness related in fitness, food in cooking.

People just need to use the search button.

I was thinking about the selling of things and while that isn't the purpose it could be a nice bump for the site and help some members maybe upgrade computers and find needed things for college or life from other members, who may not have the money to seek things elsewhere.

Or having one of our computer afficienadoes, help build someone's system for them. It helps the member get a great system from someone they can trust and helps a fellow member make a few extra bucks by doing something to help a friend out.

It would have to be for true members only, like the pron boards, where you work your way up to, so we don't get sellers coming in and just working the forum to sell stupid shit.

TFP could take a certain percentage or set fee as a fee for the extra space used.

It maybe something to think about.

I like the idea of Tilted Reviews. I was just a moment ago thinking that I needed some feedback for a new cell phone, but I don't like to start a thread on stuff like that. It would be nice to have something available for reference...but I'm thinking it'd be a *lot* of work. I guess I could just check out Consumer Reports, heh.
