I would like to suggest that a section for Google Talk ids be added to the instant messaging list... it's the only chat program I use, and would like to be able to find other who use it.

But then again... I suppose revealing your Google Talk id would also be giving away your email to potential spam bots... do you think that would be a problem?

do you really need to have more ppl on your list? what can you talk about that you can't talk to here? i personaly only have 5ppl on my list and that's plenty. on my msn, i have 10. any more and it's just chaos.

tec... it's not really a matter of chat. It serves the same function that having your Yahoo or Aim ID does on your profile.

I know I don't use either of those services but do use Google.

That said, I wouldn't put my email address up either.

well I for one cant use any of the normal chats at work....the tfp chat doesnt work (either thru irc or the java link at the top of the page), yahoo nor aim,

Google works great (so far they havent blocked it lol) its not fancy but I like it....I have no problem giving out my gmail addy for it

I dunno... sometimes it's just nice to chat about nothing with people you know from the forums...

There are already spaces for Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, and AIM... I don't see why we can't have another for Google Talk if people want to use it...

That's exactly why I like it too... it's design philosophy is very utilitarian... plus, it might be nice to voice chat with some of the TFPers from time to time...

I'd really like to see a Google Talk thingie added on the profiles. I use Google Talk a lot too and wouldn't mind adding a few TFPers to my very short list.

It's not that simple of a mod to make to add another field for yet another IM. There's plenty of other mods that Halx should or needs to implement before adding something that doesn't benefit a majority of the community members. I'm sure that some people would want their Skype info to be available too. You have plenty of space to put that information into Biography section if you truly need to put it out there.

If you want to be part of the community, then jump into IRC we're all there together as a community.

Now before you say, "But I can't log onto IRC from work..." Well neither can I but I have figured out a way to do it for the times I need to... and those that I've gotten to know over time do have ways of getting ahold of me and vice versa.

If you make yourself available to the community the community makes itself available to you.
