Politics locked to newbies? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Lately, I've seen a rash of no-name posters in Politics stirring up the proverbial shit. Of all the places we don't need trolls as OP, it's Politics.

Has any thought been put into making Politics locked to the non Tilted, ala Exhibition and Titty Board? I think it might cut down on the posts specifically tailored to troll.

I don't think I'm for that. The risk is turning Tilted Politics into an echo chamber (or... more of one than it already is). Also, having a board just for politics keeps political trolling out of General. I have seen what you're talking about, for sure, but I think as long as we've all got one finger on the "report post" button, we'll be okay.

Closing the area off to newbies would be a mistake. Just keep a lookout and use the report post button if you need a mod/admin to look at it.

On the other hand...I've seen a rash of big name posters in Politics stirring up the proverbial shit. It's politics, and welcome to it.

Like Rat, and Gucci, have already pointed out, just let someone know if it crosses that big fuzzy line into complete and total unacceptability.

Not to mention some really great posters got their start in politics - if it's your bag it can be easier to start there, higher stakes or not.
