Images not showing - Tilted Forum Project - TFP - Sexuality, Philosophy and Political Discussion

I have noticed lately that images are not showing in posts...not all, but quite a few. If i view the page source i can see the link to the image and can view it from there, but the images won't load when i view the thread...... I have checked all my settings in 'firefox' and i cannot see why this is happening. Below is an example of one of the threads this is happening with.... Thanks.

Let's see if I can do it from the same source.

Are you using the image tag to link to them? That's what I used when I replied here.

This problem is only happening when i view the threads..and not all threads are doing it, just a few.

I'm wondering, then, if some of the people uploading those images are making it so hotlinking won't work.

From what I understand, some sites allow members to disable saving and hotlinking of images. If this is the case, then there isn't much you can do. However, if that's not what is happening with these images, then I don't have any answers. You could try right-clicking on an image to see if you can save it. That's about the only suggestion I can offer right now.

My knowledge is highly limited.

ok thanks anyway.... I'll just have to try something else ...maybe use ..... IE

(EDIT:.....tried IE7 and just getting red X's on those threads.)

There's nothing on your end that you can do. As JJ said, some people hotlink from other people's servers, and sometimes when they try to link to those pics, their cache of the pics kind of tricks them into thinking that they work when they really don't. If you're getting red X's, the most likely thing is that the post isn't working, so no need to worry about anything on your end.
