Can I add a poll to a thread that already has replies to it?

I want to start a new thread with a poll. I see the check box and where I can set the number of replies, but when I check it and set the number of replies, nothing appears for me to create the poll. Help please...

You have to click to add the poll and then submit the thread. You will then be shown a screen where you fill in poll info.

I filled out the poll info but then it said something like "you can only add a poll five minutes after posting a new thread." I don't get it. Will you add the poll for me?
