How did 'GUY44' insert his comment inside Smeth's post in the BSG thread here: Battlestar Galactica?????

He didn't. Smeth linked to Guy44's profile. Those are Smeth's comments, not Guy's.

If you look, there is no edit link at the bottom of the post. There is in this one. What you're seeing is the automerge double post edits, which don't edit a post in the same way.
