Well, it's something that the staff has discussed a lot historically. At one point, the feature was turned off with the thougth being "if you aren't mature enough to deal with folks that irritate you, then you shouldn't be here anyway" but we ended up turning it back on for a variety of reasons (not the least of which was to make all of our software patches work well together).

If you HAVE to ignore someone, go to their user profile and click the "user lists" dropdown menu. The bottom one should be "ignore user". Selecting that should put them on your ignore list. However, you cannot ignore staff, which means that you can neither ignore me nor one-touch ban and clean me. The reason for that should be obvious, despite what a raging asshole I am (or at least supposed to be).

We have, at times, cleared all the ignore settings though. Frankly, people should be able to handle seeing others they may not like using the same site.
