i recently had to reboot my computer and im trying to reinstall all of my old programs. im trying to reinstall media center and i cant find my product key. anyone know where i can download a product key or find one online?

If the old copy is functional you can run a key extraction program. Or pray it's on the case. Or: http://buycheapsoftware.com/. But you probably knew that.

It should work but I don't know if MJB can do it. Should just be about flexibility and listening to the user vs. hardcoded handholding.

Two things - one, it's REFORMAT. Reboot is when you cycle the power and the machine turns off, then on.

Two, as far as I know, MCE is only available on pre-packed machines. Dells, HP, and other manufacturers who certify their hardware. As such, their MCE install is likely "SLP" - check it out online.. If your hardware matches, you shouldn't need a key. And if you do, it's a sticker stuck to the box, or laptop.
