Virtual memory problems please help

I keep getting this balloon on my task bar that tells me that my virtual memory os low and then my computer just gets super slow. If I buy put in more RAM would this solve the problem? It happens after I have been surfing for about an hour and a half. It sucks and I iwll get more RAM but want to know if that will fix the problem.

it will help the problem, in your system you have the equivalent of 2 kinds of memory, physical, and virtual, physical is real memory attached to your mother board, virtual is part of the hard drive designated to be used a memory, most systems use more memory then they physically have. you could also increase the amount of virtual memory as long as you have extra hard drive space on your drive. however, getting more real memory would be better as virtual memory is thousands of times slower then real memory.
