Winamp 3 gets the chop.

Ok. Winamp 3 finally pissed me off for the last time today. It never seemed stable enough, messed with other apps, and could never randomize large playlists to my satisfaction. Before I rollback to 2, what do you guys use? I would like a simple interface, and skins aren't really a big issue. I want something to work, not look like "Buffy, season 3".

Thanks!

Media Jukebox from www.musicex.com. I feel it has the best library features of any MP3 player. It manages my 8000 track collection with no problems.

I've been using CoolPlayer. I changed the default theme to the osX rip off.

It's open source, and small... and it plays mp3s =)

Winamp v2.9 works much better than 3 and hasn't once caused me any trouble. The internet radio/tv option with alt+L is kind of cool too, usually something interesting on there.

Winamp 2.8. I couldn't be bothered to keep upgrading anymore and it works just fine.

using the 'old' instead of the ver 3 by choice. why change what works nearly perfectly?

Winamp 2.91 most of the time... I also sometimes use an old version of sonique which also does the job, I like Sonique better, but WinAmp is the system standart over here... so ::shrugs::

Winamp 2.91 seems to have the best features of Winamp 3 without the instability and resource-hogging nature of it's "newer" revision.

MusicMatch Jukebox

No better way to listen, rip, burn, and organize your MP3's.

Winamp sucks worse than Media Player.

I like it more now that you can watch divix videos too now.

I've never found a easier player to use. Others make playlists a pain in the ass.

Another vote for Winamp 2.91

Media browser is a nice add-on. Tried version 3 and just didn't like the feel/couldn't find a skin I liked. Didn't think it was worth keeps so rolled back to 2.91.

I think my favourite PC jukebox program is Media Jukebox. Rock solid, and great management tools. Winamp 2.x for casually playing single mp3s (winamp 3.x is too bloated for me). My fave player is iTunes though

I am usint winamp 2.79 because it plays mp3's and That's all I really need it to do. Also I don't tend to upgrade my software unless it has a feature I really need.

Winamp 2.78 is what I have used for quite some time. It plays MP3's, thats all I need. Winamp 3 core dumps on every machine I have installed it on when I try to enqueue songs. Besides some of the cooler features such as the transparency, I don't see any reason to use the 3.x. Besides, IMHO it seems that they only come out with new versions when they want to change the tracking bugs that come with it. On the same note, I just simply dont trust the windows media player.

winamp 3 has never given me any trouble at all. i like it cuz its very lean and mean. not bloated like music match or win media player. im waiting for the bugs to be worked out of sonique 2, then ill use that primarily.
