I want to learn the dvorak keyboard layout. Any advice?

buy one or remap your current keyboard and use it ?? there are some typing programs that teach for dvorak, simon and schusters typing tutor does, there also a couple of books on dvorakm, one by august dvorak springs to mind.

it usually takes regular typists two weeks to adapt.

I tried it out for a while. It was kinda neat, but the rest of the world uses qwerty, so whenever I went to school or work I was totally screwed up. My mind couldn't switch between them as easily as I thought.
