digital camera

Sorry if this is a repost. I'm looking for a good digital camera. I don't want something really huge or insanely small. Just a good sized one like the size of some of those Canon Power shots. If anyone knows about really good ones that I can get in asia, I'm down for that too.

I have a Sony Mavica. Nice size and I like the zoom. Mine uses Floppy disk for a recording media but I think I would go to the
CD-R version if I could afford it.

I got a great camera recently. It is the Fuji FinePix 2800. I liked it B/c it had a 6x Optical Zoom on it and it was about $250. I added a 256mb flash card to it and I can take something retarted like 700 pictures on it or seomthing. It takes little movies and has a continuous mode as well. Pretty great camera, especially for the zoom. I bought mine at buy.com and I am verysatisfied with them as well.

i'm an olympus person... loved all of them that I've owned. Some friends have Nikons.

Consumer Reports rated both Nikon and Olympus as great buys.

go to The Comparometer to see a side by side image comparison of the cameras that you are looking at to see the real differences.

I've had a Nikon CoolPix 775 for almost two years. Love the camera, hate the software. I use a card reader to get the images into my computer.

I have a coolpix 995 which I like a lot. My brother also has a digital elph which is very nice. Remember you only need a high megapixel camera if you are going to be producing large (8x10) prints.

I have a Fuji Finepix 2600 (2.1 mp). Had it 18 months, it's been great.
