Windows XP-only printers and networking

This is a bit of a problem. I've got two computers networked in my house -- one newer Dell with Windows XP, and one older Dell with Windows 98. With the newer printer came a Dell All-In-One printer/scanner/copier/etc., and I'd like to network it. The problem? It only works with XP computers. So, is there any way to circumvent that and allow my Windows 98 computer to print?

Couldn't ya just copy the files from the 98 PC onto the XP PC through the network, and then print it from the XP PC with the new printer installed?

Well, yes, but when you have two people on the computers, that gets real old real fast.

How about going and buying an Windows XP upgrade kit for the computer? It's only about $90

There is a reason hardware like this has system requirements. No, you can not run the drivers for this device on Win98...it won't know what to do with them. You will need to upgrade, or save the files to a network share and print them later.

I second this, and have talked to Dell about it for a customer of mine with a similar situation, basically put the answer from Dell was "why should we support an O/S of 6 years ago?" I dont blame them either.
