Anyone here have a G-Mail account? Could you please send me an invite? I couldn't get in on the beta testing.

They're very hard to get. If someone was smart they wouldn't just give it away. You can get something valuable for it. Pimp this shit....http://www.gmailswap.com/

If you just gotta have a free 1GB email now register at

www.spymac.com . They offer a lot more than that too.

I don't currently see a way to invite new people. They did that about a month ago. Who knows if they'll do it again? I also haven't heard when the beta is over.

I like spymac a lot. Remember, G-Mail is going to target ads to you. The adds will be inserted in your emails. Spymac doesn't screw around with your email.

I have a Gmail account, but they've yet to allow me to invite anyone else to join.

You could always bid on one at eBay.

why are you so anxious to sign up with a mail provider that searches your incoming messages and displays ads on your screen based on context of what it finds?

Every online e-mail provider searches your incoming messages - though they do it to try to get rid of viruses. Furthermore, SMTP is an unencrypted protocol, meaning any messages you send get transferred across the internet in plaintext - so you really don't have that much privacy to start with.

Besides, I've got my own e-mail accounts for anything important/private - it'd be fun to have a 1GB free e-mail account, though.

I have my gmail account, best service I have ever used. Got it through blogger, wish I could invite more people to use it.
And about the ads, you only see them rarely depending on your message and I actually find it fun to see what the ads will pick up in my messages. Nothing I send is all that private anyways.

I want to try out Gmail too. I have a Spymac account, but it is slow and unreliable . It's even having problems losing mail. Stay away from spymac for the moment...

Ignorant.

Kidding.

Email service being offered by Google. They give you 1G of space, theory being, you'll never actually have to delete any of your email. They put out a beta to some people, and others are now worried they won't be able to get superfan99@gmail.com email addresses.

I started using gmail two days ago, got invited by a friend. Excellent service and has been everything I was expecting it to be. I also really don't mind the adds, don't even see them when reading a message.

so iamii, does that mean that you can invite "friends"? because, if you can, there are a lot of people here who want to be your friend.

You can only send invitations when they allow you to, which isn't very often (once so far as I know, and then only for the original "seed" users). The reason I like it is that the other free email services (Hotmail, etc) turn your messages into billboards. When I get emails from people with Hotmail accounts there is a little advertisement at the bottom trying to entice me to use Hotmail. Gmail keeps the advertising in my account area, and they are discrete little ads that are easy to identify like the ones on the Google results page after you search. No blinking, epilepsy-inducing, deceptive banners in my email! I'm with everyone else - email isn't a particularly private way to communicate in the first place, so having a computer scan my messages and suggest appropriate advertising is not a big deal. I just wonder what it'll be like if I start getting huge amounts of spam on the gmail account. Will my advertisements reflect the fact that hot lesbians want to meet me even though my dick needs enlarging and I am trying to buy college degrees from the internet with money from refinancing the house I don't own? That could be interesting.

If anyone has any leftover GMail invites, please send one my way! I'm interested in trying it out, as searching through my mail is very slow right now.

pook, that aventuremail is crap. I've been trying for 20 minutes just to set up an account. Fails every time, no matter what I do.

It fails due to the fact that they are only letting so many ppl sign up per month. I tried yesterday and they have already reached the 10k mark for the month, or so it said.

Personally, the two biggies for me are storage space for files, articles, etc., and search capability.

Yahoo, finally enabled their 100mb email service... But Yahoo mail has been insanely slow today and i've been getting tons of error pages. It seems like they released it a little early, and left a few bugs in the system
