Computer restarting???

Some friends are trying to fix my computer and the problem is that it will boot up and when it loads windows it just restarts.

We have done everything: reformatted, messed with bios shit, EVERYTHING.

We think it has to do with a program. It works fine in safe mode.

Help.

Possibly the Sasser virus. There is a fix on the Microsoft.com website. That may help your cause.

Wait - nevermind. You said you have reformatted? Now that is odd.

Yea, I know...it seems to only restart in when Windows loads. I installed Windows again and the computer was on for about an hour installing but when it tried to load windows. BAM! Restart.

Check your ram and make sure your cpu heatsink/fan is placed and fixed properly on the mobo slots.

Its a hardware problem.

my comp restarts whenever its idle for 20+ minutes, explain THAT.
i can game and fold for hours on end and i will have no problems whatsoever, its just when i leave it alone it will restart itself.
im sure its some odd virus that isint detected or something, but i just run folding whenever i leave it alone and it solves it.

By any chance, is your comp idle time set to 20 mins? Because if that's the case, its either software (as in windows related), or hardware, as in power supply or mobo.

Maybe your power settings are set to do that?
