XBOX trouble

Alright, the Xbox is a computer so it goes here.

Well my network card got fucked up in transit moving from friends house to house and constant unplugging. Anyways, a pin came lose inside the network port (one of the 5-6 spring loaded copper flat wires that connect to the RJ-45 cable). Now, I do not want to send the xbox back as it is most likely past the warranty and I do not want to pay an arm and a leg for shipping + Microsoft technician pay + waiting 2 months.

Anybody know of an easy way to replace the network card?

with an XBOX, I'm assuming that you're just referring to the network cable jack in the back only, right?

If thats the case, is it laying in its groove, twisted across another, or missing completely?

If its in its groove, have you tried to use it? If its shifted across another, use a toothpick or other such instrument and place it back in. If its missing completely, try using it and if it doesn't work you're going to have to get it repaired unless you know an XBOX tech.

i had that situation once and i lucked out and the female connector you're talking about was actually connected to a wire THEN soldered in. so i cut the wire, replaced the female connector, and connected the new wire to the old cut one

ior you could get real ballsy and re solder in a new network jack. some of those solder points are super hardcore small though

good luck!
