Language Bar?

Everytime I restarted my computer, the damn Language Bar in the toolbar keeps reappearing, even if I turned off and restart properly.

I've been told before that some sort of spyware program is causing this but so far, nothing is showing up on Adscan and Spybot.

Any idea?

Try to go to start, run msconfig, go into the startup tab and disable the program on startup. Restart your computer and see if it comes up.

It's not in the msconfig or anywhere in it for that matter

click on the little down arrow, and select "settings", then de-select "start when windows starts".

solved the problem for me...

simply closing it doesn't change the default settings...this is the same with every program.

If I'm not mistaken the language bar is part of MS office... that is probably why it isn't detected as spyware.
I also agree with what raptor226 says and to actually look at the options and disable it in the toolbar/program itself.... it's the only way to get rid of some stuff in the startup now.

Either that or go poking around the registry. Back it up first, though!

Office 2003 right?

start
Settings
Control Panel
Regional and Language options

Click 'Languages' tab, click the 'Details' button.

You'll see the Language bar button at the bottom left of the new window.

You don't need the bar unless you:
a: Use a handwriting input tool
b: Use speech input.
c: Swap between languages for your documents. (Even with this you can turn off the bar, add the other language in the other tab and set a hot-key)

If you don't fit in the above 3, turn it off completely. Save resources.
