Raw Read Error Rate

Hi everyone,

About a month ago I completed a few upgrades to my PC. In addition to a new motherboard and processor, I installed a Western Digital WDC WD2000JD-22HBC0 hard drive.

Now, in the Intel Desktop Utilities software that came with the motherboard, it is detecting a Raw Read Error Rate of 51, with the threshold of 116. I did some research through Google on this, but have not been able to come up with any solid information other than it is a portion of the S.M.A.R.T. standard for IDE equipment.

This error has just started appearing today, and I disabled the popup notifier in the IDU application because it likes to popup just about every few minutes.

Thanks in advance.
