eh, because I don't find it particularly funny when people are dying. no matter the side of the coin they fall on.

if those kids were white and american, and that soldier was an iraqi, it may provoke different thoughts internally.

*shrug*

I didn't think the orginial picture was funny either, for that matter. Sorry.

I understand your position and respect it.

Had this soldier actually done said deeds to the kid's family it would have been unquestionably offensive to me, too. However, I would agree that the humor is rather mean spirited ...

... I feel as badly about laughing at "ethnic" jokes, too. But I still laugh privately.
