Post Your Battle Bra

You read it right: post your "load bearing vest" or your "tactical equipment carrier" or whatever manly title you gave your battle bra... the strappy nylon lingerie that supported your hefty bosom of ammo and other necessary implements during those endless hours of rainy field exercises, papercut-exciting combat deployments, etc.

==========================================================

Crompsin's "Screw It - My Good Stuff Got Stolen" Rig (Afghanistan 2006)

What happens when all your good (and expensive) stuff is stolen out of a shipping container by your own patriotic countrymen before a combat deployment? You use surplus RFI junk due to total deployment apathy! With the combined resources of my team and some rummaging through various other storage containers, I pieced together the following:

Components:

1 - 2nd gen MOLLE vest
4 - M4 double mag carrier (7x 30-rnd mags, 1x 20-rnd mag [tracers])
1 - M4 double mag carrier (ICOM radio)
1 - Grenade pouch (tritium compass on dummy cord)
1 - Grenade pouch (2x old school field dressing on break away dummy cord)
1 - 5" General purpose zipper pouch for zip ties, 550 cord, elec. tape, chem lights, extra NOD / ICOM batteries, pens, etc.
2 - zip cuffs on breakaways (dorsal)
1 - 10 round 40mm bandoleer (for rare situations when second grenade was needed)
1 - 10" General purpose zipper pouch for 40mm grenades
1 - Smoke pouch (Surefire flashlight on dummy cord)
1 - Leatherman WAVE in pouch (no dummy cord)
1 - CRKT Crawford/Kasper 4" folding knife in pouch (no dummy cord)
1 - Photon microlight LED in red (covered in friction tape for tactile ID)
1 - Photon microlight LED in white (naked for tactile ID)

Yeah, I went with the standard MOLLE components for A-stan because my fancy stuff was most likely jacked by some rednecks in South Carolina and I got all bitter. Man, I had some really top drawer body armor and GI Joe threads. Notice how mismatched the colors are on my setup. Hah, I've got every camo pattern from the last 10 years.

Thread Purpose: Post a picture or write a brief description of your gear from various adventures.

Note: Do make sure you pasty out your eyes like all those high speed "government contractor" guys.

I switched my gear around a lot on this last trip.

Here was my setup for an air-assault mission where we knew we were going to be in a fight.

Visible are my plate carrier, basic load M-4 mags (standard USGI except for the one in my weapon because they are lighter); big ass knife; offensive grenade (much better than a flashbang); frag grenade; MBITR w/ headset; NVG's, GPS, and a map (in the big pouch); medical blow-out bag; and ACOG with Jpoint on my weapon.

We didn't take our pistols in favor of more ammunition and grenades.

Not visible is a small pack on my back w/ a camel back, blow out gear, more ammunition and grenades, a cliff bar, another MBITR setup for satcom (sat antenna in drop bag, thales handmike visible on my kit), IRIDIUM phone, flex-cuffs, suppressor (so bad guys can't see your muzzle flash as easily at night), etc.

I only battle with little tan targets that don't shoot back.

Not mine but worth showing

It's probably a competition only pistol that never sees action outside of the range. Most guys have dedicated carry and competition guns.

Well I can't find a good picture of me and my rack. But if you can use your imagination... all mine was GI. I had the FLC with two ammo pouches on the left, and one on the right. Both grenade pouches on the right - one with a compass in in, the other with one of the LED lights in it. On the right side plate, I had the med kit. Between the ammo pouch and the med kit on the right side, I had a canteen pouch, in which I stored my NVGs in during night missions or red bull or rip its during day missions. On my back I'd always have my assault pack, my ASIP and extra batteries in it. The rest was all mission dependent. I never got an MBITR :-\.

This was my bra, couldn't kill anyone with anything in it. What a shame.

This is still a bad idea on par with painting the tip of a live gun blaze orange
